What is an A-UKFTA Declaration of Origin?

The A-UKFTA Declaration of Origin can be used for claiming preferential tariff treatment under Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement. Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (A-UKFTA) is a bilateral trade agreement between Australia and United Kingdom. A-UKFTA contains commercially significant commitments that creates new export opportunities and reduce input costs for business and strengthen trade diversification.

A-UKFTA Rules of Origin (ROO) are used to determine the originating status of a good and the eligibility to claim preferential tariff treatment under the Agreement.

A good shall be regarded as originating if it is:
(a) wholly obtained or produced in the territory of one or both of the Parties, as established in Article 4.3 (Wholly Obtained or Produced Goods);
(b) produced entirely in the territory of one or both of the Parties, exclusively from originating materials; or
(c) produced entirely in the territory of one or both of the Parties using non-originating materials, provided the good satisfies all applicable requirements of Annex 4B (Product-Specific Rules),

How to obtain an A-UKFTA Declaration of Origin

Step 1:
Complete the Exporter Information Form (CO4) to register your business with us.  

Step 2:
Send your completed form to exportdocs.cbd@businessaustralia.com.

Step 3:
Once your form has been received and accepted, we will send you the A-UKFTA Declaration of Origin template with the corresponding instructions on how to complete the document.
