Sydney’s business community gathered last night to celebrate the creativity, resilience and community spirit that define the city’s most inspiring businesses.
From student support to free dental care, winners of the 2025 Sydney Business Awards showed how business can be a force for good.
Peak business organisation Business NSW and the City of Sydney hosted the gala event at Sydney Town Hall.
Business NSW CEO Daniel Hunter commended the winners and finalists for their achievements.
“What I love about nights like this is they remind us that behind every business success is a story of risk, belief, hard work, and resilience,” Mr Hunter said.
“These awards celebrate those stories and the incredible efforts Sydney’s businesses put in day after day.”
Top honours went to businesses celebrated not only for their success but for their generosity and community spirit.
Business of the Year was awarded to 2Stay, providers of short-term, student-focused accommodation.
Under founder Thaio Tomazetti’s leadership, the business helps create meaningful transitions for international students, blending cultural sensitivity with practical support.
Dr Ben Hargreave from Dental Boutique Sydney won Outstanding Business Leader (21+ employees) for his focus on community health.
His “Filling the Gap” days open the doors to free dental care for refugees, pensioners, and low-income families, helping those who might otherwise miss out on essential treatment.
Lord Mayor Clover Moore said: "Sydney's businesses are vital in driving economic growth and creating jobs. It’s wonderful to see so many local companies recognised for the very meaningful ways they improve the lives of their customers and give back to the community."
The awards featured 20 categories with 115 finalists across them. The winners will now represent Sydney at the NSW State Business Awards on October 29.
Business Sydney Executive Director Paul Nicolaou said: “business owners are the innovators, the entrepreneurs and the inspirators that help make our glittering city the best in the world”.
“I am honoured to be in the company of such esteemed businesspeople. Just getting to the Sydney Business Awards is a huge achievement. To those who’ve won tonight and made it through to the Business NSW Awards: we salute you,” Mr Nicolaou said.
