When Shefali Pall arrived in Australia almost 24 years ago, she brought with her a passion for food and people. Today, she has built Alkalizer Café and Catering in Campbelltown around that passion – a business focused on bringing people together through good food, conversation and connection.
For Shefali, hospitality has always been about more than what is served on the plate. "Food always has been my passion. People and food, that's always given me that drive."
That passion has shaped not only her own business journey but also her commitment to supporting other businesses in her community. Alongside running Alkalizer, Shefali serves as President of the Campbelltown Chamber of Commerce, working closely with local business owners and hearing first-hand the challenges they face.

Through those conversations, Shefali has seen the importance of businesses having access to support and a way to have their concerns heard. "What's really valuable with an organisation like Business NSW is that they become your voice; they become your advocate. So, if there is something bothering us in the business, whether it's red tape, compliance, or something we can't get through, Business NSW then collates all of that and can take it back to policymakers and advocate on our behalf."
