STRENGTHENING THE VOICE OF BUSINESS ON THE CENTRAL COAST

About your chamber

Advocating for business. Driving regional growth.

Business NSW Central Coast is the leading voice for businesses across the region. We work alongside industry leaders, government and community stakeholders to advocate for policy reform, unlock investment and create the conditions for businesses to grow, employ and innovate.

Our focus is practical, evidence-based advocacy that delivers real outcomes for the Central Coast economy.

What we do for you

At Business NSW Central Coast, we champion the interests of businesses large and small by addressing the challenges limiting growth and unlocking opportunities for long-term prosperity.

Supported by our Regional Advisory Council, local Chambers of Commerce and a network of Regional Leaders, we work collaboratively to advocate with one clear, unified voice on the issues that matter most to our region.

Our work spans infrastructure delivery, housing supply, workforce capability, placemaking, tourism, digital enablement and sustainability — all critical to the future success of the Central Coast.

How we do

Our Focus Areas

Working closely with our business community and Regional Advisory Council, we have reaffirmed seven core regional priorities that will guide Business NSW Central Coast advocacy and action for 2026–27:

1. Housing Supply & Affordability

Advocating for faster planning approvals, increased land release and greater housing diversity — with a focus on medium to high-density development near employment hubs and Transport-Oriented Development precincts across Gosford, Wyong, Tuggerah and Woy Woy. Supporting infrastructure delivery, utilities readiness and innovative development models to unlock housing supply and improve affordability.

2. Planning Reform

Calling for streamlined, solutions-focused planning systems that reduce approval timeframes and complexity. Advocating for digital planning tools, automated DA pathways, increased planning capacity and state-level reform to ensure the Central Coast is genuinely “open for business” and able to respond to projected population growth.

3. Labour & Skills

Strengthening education-to-employment pathways through partnerships with TAFE NSW, the University of Newcastle, schools and industry. Addressing skills shortages, workforce participation barriers and future capability needs — including leadership development, youth pathways, disability employment and skilled migration.

4. Placemaking & Town Centres

Advocating for strategic investment in town centres to drive economic activity, liveability and confidence. Priorities include Gosford CBD and Waterfront activation, improved parking and amenity, smart-city infrastructure, revitalisation of underutilised precincts and coordinated place-based governance.

5. Tourism & Night-Time Economy

Strengthening the visitor economy through skills development, cultural and eco-tourism growth, and precinct activation. Supporting Special Entertainment Precincts, enhanced waterfront and coastal experiences, improved safety and infrastructure, and initiatives that extend visitor stays and boost regional profile.

6. Business Capability, Digital Enablement & Growth

Supporting businesses to lift productivity and growth through improved capability across strategy, leadership, innovation, marketing, technology, AI and cyber readiness. Helping businesses adopt new tools, access procurement opportunities and remain competitive in a rapidly changing economy.

7. Renewable Energy & Sustainability

Positioning renewable energy, sustainability and circular economy industries as key growth sectors for the Central Coast. Promoting existing infrastructure assets, attracting investment and supporting businesses to implement ESG frameworks, sustainability certification and energy-efficiency initiatives aligned with government strategies.
