BABIES, KAYAKS AND FIVE-STAR STAYS: SYDNEY'S BEST BUSINESSES REVEALED
A luxury hotel, a property agency, a midwifery business and a harbour kayak operator were among the big winners at the 2026 Sydney Business Awards, following a record year for entries.
Infinity Property Agents was named Business of the Year, Shangri-La Sydney won Excellence in Large Business and Shire Midwifery was recognised as Outstanding New Business.
This year's awards attracted 176 finalists, the largest field in the history of the Sydney awards.
Infinity Property Agents emerged as one of the night's biggest winners, also taking out Excellence in Small Business, while company director Michael Kurosawa was named Outstanding Business Leader (20 employees and under).
Shangri-La Sydney also enjoyed a successful night, with General Manager Rob Weeden named Outstanding Business Leader (21 employees and over).
Sydney By Kayak was another multiple-award winner, taking out Excellence in Sustainability, Excellence in Sustainable Tourism and Outstanding Visitor Experience.
Business NSW CEO Daniel Hunter said: “Every successful business creates something bigger than its own balance sheet.
"It creates jobs, opens doors for people and helps other businesses succeed.
"The businesses recognised tonight come from very different industries, but they all make Sydney a better place to live, work and do business."
Business Sydney Executive Director Paul Nicolaou said the record number of entries reflected the strength of Sydney's business community.
“It tells you something about the confidence, ambition and depth of Sydney's business community,” Mr Nicolaou said.
“These awards bring together businesses of every size and sector, but they all have one thing in common: they’ve built something that works, and they’ve made it work in one of the world’s most competitive cities.”
The winners will now represent Sydney at the 2026 State Business Awards on 30 October.
