Safety Procedures & Emergency Readiness

The safety of your guests and staff is our highest priority. Chifley Square Business & Event Centre operates under strict emergency management procedures in collaboration with base building security and facilities teams.

Building-wide safety protocols

  • Base building security is on-site 24/7 and coordinates with our event staff during all incidents.
  • All emergency procedures are aligned with the base building’s safety management plan, including evacuation routes, alarm testing schedules, and real-time incident reporting.

In case of emergency

If an emergency arises during your event (fire, medical, evacuation), please follow these steps:

  1. Listen for alarms – Automated announcements will provide instructions.
  2. Follow staff instructions – Event staff are trained to guide guests to safety.
  3. Use designated exits only – Emergency exit maps are displayed in all rooms.
  4. Do not use lifts – Use stairs only during an evacuation.

Venue emergency equipment

  • Fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and defibrillators are available throughout the venue.
  • Emergency lighting and illuminated exit signage are installed in all public and event spaces.

First aid & medical assistance

  • Basic first aid is available on-site.
  • For serious medical incidents, security or event staff will call emergency services and guide responders to the scene.

Emergency wardens

Chifley event staff act as designated emergency wardens during bookings.

You will be introduced to your warden during setup or pre-brief, who will be your go-to for all emergency queries or procedures.

Pre-event safety briefing

A safety briefing can be provided before your event starts to ensure all staff and key stakeholders are aware of exit routes, emergency roles, and contacts.

VIP Security & Discreet Event Management

We understand the importance of ensuring a secure and discreet environment for VIP guests and high-profile events. Our VIP Security Policies include:

  • Dedicated Security Personnel
    Additional professional security staff can be arranged to manage VIP arrivals, departures, and throughout the event, ensuring personal safety and privacy.

    Restricted access zones can be established to protect VIP areas, with wristbands, guest lists, or electronic access systems as required.
