One of the State’s most unique regions, the Central Coast continues to make a major contribution to the State’s economy through manufacturing, tourism, health, education and food processing.

The Outstanding Employee Award recognises an inspirational employee who has demonstrated a passion for their role and a commitment to their workplace and community.

2021 Winner

Zac Bower, Australian Reptile Park

Zac Bower is the only person in Australia with the job title Venom Supervisor. Zac oversees the Australian Reptile Park’s venom milking program and is responsible for the milking of venom from Australia’s deadliest snakes to turn into lifesaving antivenom. This program saves 300 Australian lives every year and Zac nurtures all 250+ venomous snakes in his care inclusive of cleaning, feeding and veterinary checks. He also educates the public on snake safety through shows at the Australian Reptile Park and appearances on some of Australia’s biggest media platforms including Sunrise, TODAY, ABC and the Australian to name a few.

The Outstanding Young Business Leader award recognises an inspirational business leader aged 35 or under who demonstrates outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic business direction and innovative ideas.

Amanda Woodbine, Australian Reptile Park

Now in her 20th year at the Australian Reptile Park, Amanda Woodbine shows a commitment to the business not many people her age show. Rising through the ranks, first as a volunteer in the spider section, then reptile keeper and customer service representative, Amanda is now the Marketing & Business Manager overseeing the promotion of the Park, strategic planning, visitor experience, customer service, as well as staff training and engagement. Her drive, determination and innovation has seen visitation, customer satisfaction and revenue soar over the past few years, even with the hurdles of bushfires, floods and coronavirus a consistent presence.

The Outstanding Business Leader award recognises an inspirational business leader aged 36 or over who demonstrates outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic business direction and innovative ideas, whilst providing leadership to the new generation.

Tim Faulkner, Australian Reptile Park

Wrestling a saltwater crocodile, wrangling a deadly taipan and milking a funnel web spider is all in a day’s work for Tim Faulkner and that still leaves time in this passionate conservationist’s day to save the iconic Tasmania devil from extinction. Tim is the Director and General Manager at the Australia Reptile Park and President of its charity Aussie Ark in the Barrington Tops, NSW. He was named Australian Geographic’s Conservationist of the Year in 2015 and his television shows Bondi Vet and Wild Life of Tim Faulkner are watched by millions of viewers worldwide.

Australian Reptile Park

Established in 1958, the Australian Reptile Park is the Central Coast’s premier animal attraction. Featuring Australia's most iconic animals including koalas, kangaroos, platypus, quokkas and much more, it makes for the perfect wildlife experience for visitors. The Australian Reptile Park is the only facility in Australia that milks terrestrial venomous snakes and funnel web spiders’ venom to make into antivenom – a program that has saved over 20,000 Australian lives since its inception. Also known for its conservation work, it is an industry leader in the breeding of endangered species including Tasmanian devils, koalas and Eastern quolls to name a few.

SpotGo Premium Cleaning Products

Brendan Small (Director) was born into the commercial cleaning industry and when he took over the family business in 2000 was not happy with any of the cleaning products ranged in the supermarkets. So Brendan and Nancy decided to engage one of Australia's leading industrial chemists to help formulate a range of Premium Cleaning Products that are exceptional in quality and performance. Years of testing and R&D lead Brendan and Nancy to create an Australian Made and Owned Manufacturing business on the central coast of NSW and SpotGo was launched in March 2014.

The Glen Centre

The Glen is an award-winning Aboriginal Community Controlled residential drug and alcohol program that is proudly located on the NSW Central Coast. For over 27 years, The Glen has helped Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal men fight drug and alcohol addiction and rebuild their lives. In 2015, The Glen set a national record for the number of Community Health standards that were “exceeded”. In 2020, The Glen successfully received funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health to establish NSWs first Aboriginal Community Controlled rehabilitation centre for women.

Amelio Health

Amelio Health provide an App based behavioural medicine program for people on claim with chronic pain, and their rehabilitation providers. Current face to face programs are extremely expensive, with extensive delays and difficulties for regional and rural access. They deliver a "Pain Team In Your Pocket" anywhere and everywhere, with 24hr live expert support in managing chronic pain and medications when you need it most. They are particularly focused on the workers compensation and insured space due to the added psychosocial factors placing pressure on these already challenged workers. Data from wearables & validated behavioural medicine outcome measures, drive behaviour change.
