Although Echuca-Moama is known for the many sunny and hot days, you can still enjoy the River during the cooler months by touring the river on a paddle steamer cruise. Known as the paddlesteamer capital of the world, the region is home to the world’s largest fleet of operating paddlesteamers. Echuca was once a bustling inland port becoming the second largest port to operate in Victoria. Once near the river you’ll hear the distinctive sound of the paddlesteamer whistles and gentle chugging motion. A trip to the twin towns isn’t complete without experiencing one of the multiple paddlesteamer cruises that operate daily. The world’s oldest wooden hull paddlesteamer to still be operating, the PS Adelaide is one of these vesicles, available to take you for a cruisey afternoon to enjoy the natural beauty of the river environment.
Nestled on the banks of the mighty Murray River and set against a backdrop of idyllic natural bushland, the border towns of Echuca Moama exude a raw, timeless and authentic beauty that is unrivalled in Australia.
